This is probably the 2nd case from Maine (and the 2nd case from Indiana has not been acknowledged).
The MMWR running total for 2011 includes the two 2010 cases reported in 2011, so the 8 cases listed for 2011 are:
A/Pennsylvania/40/2010 (Sep 6 isolate originally called seasonal H3N2)
A/Minnesota/11/2010 daughter (confirmed serologocally)
A/Indiana/08/2011 first case w/ H1N1 M gene
A/Pennsylvania/09/2011
A/Pennsylvanai/10/2011
A/Pennsylvania/11/2011
A/Maine/06/2011
A/Maine/07/2011

Not yet listed in MMWR
A/Indiana/10//2011 (originally reported as A/Indiana/11/2011)

The 2nd Maine and 2nd Indiana cases were in fluview and "have you heard?", but not MMWR.
The week 44 Maine report has no positives listed.

Thanks for the clarification. So, correct me if I'm wrong, the isolates identified (but not all confirmed in the MMWRs) as trH3N2 from collection dates in 2011 are:

A/Indiana/08/2011
A/Indiana/09/2011
A/Indiana/10/2011
A/Maine/06/2011
A/Maine/07/2011
A/Pennsylvania/09/2011
A/Pennsylvania/10/2011
A/Pennsylvania/11/2011

No, there are only two trH3N2 cases from Indiana. Indiana/09/2011 is from a child, but is seasonal H3N2. Indiana/10/2011 was initally called Indiana/11/2011, but both names (same sequence) are from the veterinarian (59M), that is not listed yet in MMWR.

Thus, there are 7 confirmed 2011 trH3N2 cases and all have the same constellation, including M from H1N1pdm09.

2 from Indiana
2 from Maine
3 from Pennsylvania

There is quite a bit of babble on the boards out there. "

"Alert" takes the data off this board, (citing "other sources") but can't mention this board or Recombinomics so it gets posted on one babble board without attribution

(this stealing of data without attribution is usually frowned on, but is SOP by the babblers and associated boards)'
http://www.flutrackers.com/forum/showpo ... ostcount=3
and then "alert" is given the credit by another babble board

http://afludiary.blogspot.com/2011/11/m ... -2011.html

when neither babbler has a clue, and initially claim that the Maine trH3N2 in MMWR 44 is a 3rd case from Maine (based on nothing other than an inability to count).

As expected, there are no trH3N2 announced in the week 44 FluView

The table of the underlying data quantifies graph

http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarc ... regt44.htm
None of the 8 influenza A positive samples in week 44 were subtyped and only 4 of the 17 in week 43 were subtyped (and all four were H3N2).
The 3 trH3N2 cases in October (week 41 and 43) are NOT listed.

The CDC charade continues.

The misinformation posted in association with the IHR National Focal Point data on the two most recently reported trH3N2 raises serious issues. The above claim that the 15 US trH3N2 cases are from 2005 is in error. The first case (A/Kansas/13/2009) was in August, 2009. This error was also stated in the WHO update on pandemic vaccines and stems from sloppy and misleading reporting by the CDC, as seen in the "Have You Heard?" report on the above two cases (A/Maine/07/2011 and A/Indiana/10/2011).
