Maybe a sacrificial lamb in a senior position in government might spur them to use other measures to help combat this flu outbreak that doesn't exist and possible save many many lives.

It makes you beyond angry when you see this kind of behavior and as Niman says it's not limited to this case.

The vaccine selection was the start of the problem now we wait and see if they can dodge a bullet.

Yes, the failure to pick a new target is beyond absurd, and now that mistake is being compounded by denials of a problem, which extends WELL beyond Venezuela.

The anti-vaccine wackadoodler's claimed attempts at population control as the reason for avoiding the H1N1 vaccine.
Ironically, there will be far more deaths over the refusal to pick a new vaccine target.

karma

nice juxtapositioning of news items!

The Governor of Monagas, José Gregorio Briceño is the sixth confirmed case of H1N1 flu in the state, as regional officials said at a news conference Monday morning.

The regional president had been detected with strong flu symptoms from several days ago. His most recent public activity was the March 30, precisely at the university hospital emergency Dr. Manuel Nunez Tovar.

The Government Secretary, Darwin was charged Agreda temporarily from office, while the Governor Briceño recovered, keeping sick leave.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.-After the appearance of 120 suspected cases of H1N1 influenza, the Ministry of Health in Tamaulipas lit red lights, said the health secretary, Norberto Treviño García Manzo.

He said that the 120 suspected cases of H1N1 are already studying in the state lab. And said that since none has been confirmed we can say that Tamaulipas is currently free of this type of influenza.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas .- After confirming 12 cases of H1N1 influenza, the Epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health Alfredo Rodríguez Trujillo warned that the holiday season puts them at risk of infection in the state.

"The stakes are high for the movement of the population, however the Ministry of Health has established health fences, particularly at points of entry at border points."

He said that so far there have been 500 suspected cases, and are the border towns of the south: Tampico, Madero and Altamira most at risk of infection.
