The possibility of a rise in the incidence of influenza A virus H1N1 in Mexico was ruled out by health authorities, as local media reported today.

"There are still cases, but these are treated and I think there is a fairly good activity to try to contain it," admitted the Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, was quoted by the press.

He said that to date there are 135 suspected cases, of which 31 have already been confirmed.

He added that six people are reported dead from the virus of influenza A H1N1 and 34 hospitalized, including 10 in serious condition, so that increase health measures, surveillance and vaccination to prevent the disease spreading to all country.

In this regard, Córdova said the number of vaccines already surpassed the 100 thousand doses, while recalled that the incidence of the disease will slow down only to increase the number of people immunized.

The frequency of hospitalized cases remains high, and the effectiveness of the vaccine remains very iffy.

The situation in Mexico is MUCH more complex than indicated.

Yes, it is.

And out of 45 people confirmed with H1N1 20 are hospitalized and most of the cases were first reported in Hospitals. Although mild-moderate cases are known this outbreak is spreading with a high hospitalization rate and CFR.

And the number of confirmed cases is a GROSS underestimate of H1N1 infections.

Yes, H1N1 cases (from mild to severe/dead) are on the rise in Chihuahua state and most of these are not being counted for several reasons. Nothing new from the first reports of atypical pneumonia/Influenza A in Chihuahua.
