Agency reports and official press releases are for informing the people in a moderate way with a global picture of what's going on without paranoid thinking.
Take a look, SARS epidemic or Avian flu (2005-2011) all of you received the information as it was. Nobody in govts. said that it was mild or easy to stop in a near future and today we are getting official reports and webpages with very good info about these potential threat. As you all can see health officials say things clear when something might turn ugly in the future.
I remember a movie of bird flu that was createf with the advice of CDC or at least providing some answers to the viewers 'Fatal contact: Bird Flu in America' It was aired internationally.
Today, there's no need to panic based on current data and if this changes you will know it via TV, newspapers, Radio, internet etc... What's the point to hide those numbers or cover a lethal disease? None because anybody wants you to be desinformed.
Health officials are people like you who try to preserve the same wellness and comfort that all we're enjoying. The problem is you think these people are superior and have extra powers. It's all psicologic, it's in your mind to see thing as they are or just watch them very black.
Our first line of defense are all of us without exception. This means if you fall I will follow.
On the other hand you are avoiding to answer my posts and only focus on negative data. You are giving a good example of what a worded and carefully selected message is.
In Spain we say 'El ladron se cree que todos son de su misma condicion' for those who think what they do is what others do without exception.
Your "fear mongering" posts are utter nonsense. The data on H1N1 in the UK was EXTENSIVELY manipulated (as you know). After the initial report showing that H1N1 was largely attacking previously healthy young adults with NO underlying conditions, such case were WITHHELD. The reported fatalitiess by the HPA were BELOW numbers reported by the media. The subsequnt reported deaths were almost exclusive those with underlying conditions. The hospitals were told not to give out numbers on deaths to the media. The demographics associated with sequences were (and are) WITHHELD. The 50% failure rate in vaccinated patients was presented as a 50% success rate. Nonsense about deaths in unvaccinated patients were released to give the illusion that the vaccine was effective. The same vaccine targets were selected for the 2011/2012 season.
The low reporting of H1N1 due to reliance on unreliable lab testing is well documented and H1N1 continues to pose a serious health risk, WHO proclamations on H1N1 pandemic ending notwithstanding,
