Approximately 300 dead birds were found along the highway I-65 in Alabama today, according to the Huffington Post. The birds are all a species of black birds, which was the majority of type of dead birds found last week.

Yesterday the report of dead birds along highway 101 in California had a witness as the birds flew into a tractor trailer truck. The witness said “it looked like the birds were all commenting suicide.”
Wildlife authorities in Alabama believe that the birds in Alabama also flew into a tractor trailer truck. What would cause birds to start running into things? Some of the other dead bird events have been theorized to have flown into buildings, wires, cars, like the first report of the thousands found in Bebe, Arkansas.I've been following this too. It's odd, I must say. What would cause birds to fly into objects? I have no clue, but can imagine a few plausible scenarios: Fever (delirium?); Intoxication (too many berry's of the wrong type); Fear (gut-wrenching fly your wings off fear).
The media would have you believe fireworks are so frightening for birds that they will fly into objects and kill themselves. Yes, maybe some. But I don't hear of these things happening every year as they have been this year. Dying birds. Dying fish. Not just localized but world-wide. If it weren't for the fact that I know there must be a logical explanation, I would believe I was living in a Stephen King book.
