HPA is reporting 45 H1N1 deaths, up from 36. They have lost virtually all credibility

HPA is receiving reports of fatal influenza cases from various
sources (clinicians, laboratory reports and death certificates)
across the United Kingdom. These reports have been
reconciled and verified by clinicians. These cases will not
represent all influenza-related deaths. Up to 5 January 2011,
50 fatal cases have been verified by HPA as related to
influenza infection. Of these cases, 45 have been associated
with H1N1 (2009) infection and five with influenza B infection.
The deaths have been mainly in younger adults and children,
with five cases less than 5 years of age; eight cases from 5 to
14 years; 33 cases from 15 to 64 years and four cases older
than 64 years. Thirty-three of 48 fatal cases with available
information (69%) were in one of the CMO-defined clinical risk
groups for vaccination. The leading reported clinical risk
factors were underlying neurological disease (n=11) and
respiratory disease including asthma (n=13). Of cases with
available information on immunisation history, 36 of 39 cases
had not received 2010/11 trivalent influenza vaccine more
than two weeks before illness onset. Thirty-three of 34 cases
had not received monovalent pandemic influenza vaccination
last season.

Vaccine status was disclosed for six more fatal cases. One of the six had received the vaccine, which is in the vaccine uptake range for the entire population. Examples of vaccine breakthrough are now three (in 39 fatal cases with known vaccine status).

The manipulation of the H1N1 fatal cases is a concern. I will look at the data a bit harder, but the HPA appears to be focusing on cases wuth underlying conditions, to get that frequecy higher and more in line with their recommendations that high risk patients get vaccinated.

The parallels with 1918 are becoming more striking, including public statements by agencies designed to downplay the pandemic threat.

It's a farce Dr Niman, just a farce. I had to go to my doctors, again, this morning as I still haven't got rid of this ***** cough. More antibiotics and a chest x-ray now. I am beyond livid now with the so-called health authorities.

Compared to the percentages of swine flu ICU patients that have died of swine flu in other parts of the world, the UK is achieving an exceptionally high survival rate.... or else putting anything else other than influenza on death certificates.

HPA has much higher numbers of deaths (well into triple digits). They are delaying the release (or discarding cases). Maybe its the holidays, but it appears to be HIGHLY suspect.

Some official or officials admitted last week that the number at that time (the numbers 36-40 which kept being repeated for days and days) was just a "fraction" (direct quote) of the real number of deaths. The quote said that people who died testing positive for swine flu but died of, for instance, pneumonia or heart failure, did not have swine flu listed as the cause of death. And also that many people died without being tested. I am sure they will not admit these things again.

Yes, they are limiting the testing to high risk fatalities. For week 51 only 12 of 26 were high risk. For week 52 it was 11 of 12. For week 1 it was 10 of 10. They are clearly just counting high risk to create the illusion that low risk are not dying and the number dead is low (50) instead of the 200 they know about.
They are CLEARLY stacking the data toward high risk and fewer deaths. They are ignoring those reported in the media with no risk and doing so rather blatantly.
