The year-end report of the ministry regarding influenza A in 2009 realized a total of 2,112 laboratory-confirmed positive cases and 103 people killed by the virus.
A total of 2112 confirmed cases, most occurred in the province of Pichincha, with 739 infected, followed by that of Guayas, with 437 cases, the report of the ministry to court Dec. 30.
The greatest number of deaths from the H1N1 virus was recorded in 2009 in Pichincha, whose capital is Quito, with 36 cases, followed by Guayas, with 16 cases.
