3 new deaths

Both monolithic and melancholy, influenza A we proclaimed again and again its share of bad news made to shock the general advantage of a pandemic that is now dead in Algeria.

The fourth victim died of having contracted the H1N1 virus. He is a young 37 year old Constantine delighted by this disease that has been expanding in view of the number of people suffering from from 299 to 335 cases confirmed.
The new deaths bring to four the number of Algerians died of influenza A since the beginning of the pandemic. The first three registered cases as a reminder two women and a newborn.

The Department confirmed in a statement released the evening before yesterday the existence of 35 new cases detected through the area and distributed as follows: ten in Algiers, Constantine seven to three in Batna, and M'Sila Biskra, two in Setif and Tizi Ouzou, and five recorded in Annaba, Bouira, Djelfa, Ghardaia and Oran.

The pandemic is worsening and therefore it would be a fatal mistake to trivialize both the side of health authorities, sought to intensify efforts to prevent the possible contamination than that of the people to arm themselves with caution and vigilance.

"The H1N1 virus is walking in nature!"

The situation is quite alarming and can not be said enough! At the press conference on Monday has led the Minister of Health, it will not beat around the bush saying that "the virus of influenza A walk through nature."

Said Barkat acknowledges that the detection mechanisms in place, particularly in terms of airport infrastructure, are able to identify all infected cases of influenza A among humans flows arriving in Algeria. "Even if an individual has contracted the H1N1 virus, signs of his appearance on his condition slow to occur and can last up to a fortnight, will know the essence of the Minister of Health.

In other words, it may well be that carriers of the virus would pass, for example, by the Algiers airport, without symptoms of influenza A are detected. That said, the best way to guard against the risk of contracting the disease is of course to comply with guidelines for prevention, including regular hand washing with soap, preferably liquid. The minister himself has placed great emphasis on such application at its meeting with representatives of the national press on Monday at its headquarters.

It was announced at that time the arrivals for the first week of a first batch of vaccines against influenza including some 900 000 doses. The reception even this first batch out of a total of 20 million doses to acquire the space of four months, in the words of the minister, will inevitably hope for the launch of the vaccination campaign in Algeria.

Until the effective use of this option, the number of cases of contamination in Algeria continues to grow, and unfortunately even in the wake of the new census death can not be excluded. Returning yesterday from our Holy Places hadjys further complicates the situation, a situation where all signals are now red.

K. A.

State comparison with our neighbors
With six fatalities, the situation in Algeria is more serious

Whether to prepare a comparative statement about the spread of H1N1 virus in the Maghreb region, or at least as regards the countries bordering with Algeria, it went quickly to the evidence that Morocco has recorded more than confirmed cases.

At the end of November, the kingdom has identified some 1710 people with influenza A with 803 in middle school. The number of deaths in Morocco because of influenza A is two dead. Ditto for Tunisia with about 300 confirmed cases of influenza A. In Algeria, the number of people infected with H1N1 virus is certainly lower compared to Morocco, however, the number of deaths is higher in Algeria who is in his sixth victim.
