The size of the Swine Flu epidemic has been hugely underestimated and Mexico had an estimated 23,000 cases of the H1N1 infection by late April, according to a new study approved for publication by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

This was probably in the US before we got the first confirmed case. I know here in California, we had flu still at the end of April. Actually I was hospitalized for pneumonia and it had all the charateristics of H1N1. My grandaughter had it first and also all the same symptoms. I have never seen have a cough so severe in her little life. She is 3. The Md we took her to tested her for Influenza, but it was negative.
But as we know now, the tests are not coming back right. Plus the whole family got it fast. When we took her to the Pedi he said that there was this strange High fever, cough and respiratory thing going around. He said at that time that is was very unusual for April and it was hitting all the schools. Interesting looking back. I hope we did have it.
