Still no week 2 report.

The week 1 report had a large jump in cases in Lehigh, which is likely linked to the big jump in hospitalized cases. There also seems to be a jump in deaths at Lehigh Valley Hospital who are under 65 based on obituaries (which usually do not include the cause of deaths and may not be related to flu).

Recent obits:

I did a similar search in December after the two H1N1 deaths (53M and 22M) and did not find this type of concentration of deaths at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Thankfully, flu season starts slowly

There have been fewer flu cases reported in Pennsylvania than in several other states, as flu season gets under way.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, New York and Virginia, among other states, are seeing "widespread influenza activity" but the number of flu cases reported in Pennsylvania isn't high enough to warrant any special concern.

Flu season, for the most part, begins in January; however, the majority of flu-related cases are reported during February, according to the CDC.

Still, Geoffrey Roche, spokesman for Pocono Medical Center — which has recently seen a few more people coming in with flu-related symptoms — says it's still not too late to get a flu shot. The shot begins to work about two weeks after a person receives it, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

No week 2 report.

The National (FluView) week 2 report is out, but no report from PA.

If they didn't add their weekly report to the national one, I can't see any reason but technical problems.

Why do you think they are not releasing the week 2 update?
