I am a Registered Nurse in the Harlingen (Rio Grande Valley) area observing a high incidence of hospital employees, hospital patients, hospital visitors, tourists, and general population in shopping malls, and churches with a very high prevalance of reactive coughing, and non-reactive bacterial antibiotic therapy leading me to a possible hypothesis of: possible undiagnosed viral cases of ?H3N2?

I am very concerned and interested on if/when new flu-shot will be distributed for hospital staff/general public for protection.

Any recommendations for amantadine or rimantadine?

Sincerely,
REGISTERED NURSE,
HARLINGEN, TEXAS

Welcome to the flutracker board. Although the CDC is testing at leat two new seasonal H3N2 vaccine targets, it is unclear when or if they will be avaiable to the public. I believe that most seasonal H3N2 is amantadine/rimantadine resistant, but is Tamiflu/Relenza sensitive.
