PRISTINA A 46-year-old woman has died in Pristina after contracting swine flu in Kosovo's first reported death from the H1N1 virus this season, a health official said on Tuesday.

The head of the clinic where she was hospitalized, Shemsedin Dreshaj, told reporters the woman had been treated for seven days but did not respond to treatment because she had been admitted late and had suffered from other illness that damaged her immune system.

Health authorities earlier reported that about 90 swine flu cases had been registered in Kosovo this year.
