Avian nine [that's h1n1] lost virulence

Number of cases of influenza A (H1N1) has been falling continuously from mid January till now. . A calculation based on the daily news of the Ministry of Health (MoH) shows that each of the weeks in the middle of this month, the second and third one occurred at least 400 new illnesses, and the last only 130.

Moreover, the number of deaths due to influenza in November fell three times from two weeks up in the fourth, from 27 to nine people.

[remainder paraphrased - they were expecting a decline in January, but saw a steep decline, perhaps attributable to immunizations]

Health Ministry (MS) specifies in a press release sent late on Thursday that as for the 122 confirmed deaths with H1N1 virus, only 98 of the patients’ families agreed on a necropsy, the other 24 refusing it, but this makes no difference in the final diagnosis.

And therefore, the international forums registered Romania with 122 confirmed deaths because of the H1N1 flu, reads the MS release issued in response to some false and tendentious information.
At the same time, all the 6,999 H1N1 flu cases occurred in Romania, were confirmed by a EU standard methodology, the source reads, adding that the confirmation was made in accredited labs, through the RT-PCR technique recommended by the European Community and used in all the EU countries.

In case of death, besides the biological tests run when the patient is hospitalized, the standard methodology includes virology and histopathologic tests on the tissues drawn form the dead person, and sent to the single accredited laboratory. The histopathological diagnosis shows the microscopic injuries caused by the H1N1 infection not by the virus, the MS release explains.

Bucharest - A suspected bird flu outbreak has been reported in a remote Romanian village, the Sanitary and Veterinary Authority said on Saturday.

Samples of two dead hens were sent for confirmation of the potentially deadly H5N1 virus to the Animal Health Institute in Bucharest and on to the Weybridge laboratory in Britain, the Authority said.

The poultry in the small private farm at a village on the Danube Delta were slaughtered and the area disinfected.

"There is currently no risk of the disease spreading," the Authority said.

Two weeks ago, a bird flu outbreak was reported in the nearby village of Letea close to the Ukrainian border, the first case in Europe for a year.

I don't know if the H5N1 outbreak relates to the above story

Temperature variation and they said the word. Only last week in public health and family physicians were 4711 registered cases of viral respiratory infections. According to data provided by the Department of Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Control within the Department of Public Health (DPH), the county found an increase of about 1,500 such cases a number of problems. This difference is explained by the fact that during the Easter holidays ill addressability to offices was low, and family doctors have enjoyed a special holiday. Instead, on the number of pneumonia not observed a significant difference since the last report, last week recorded 1070 cases.

He continued vaccination against influenza type A/H1N1. Last week 52 people were vaccinated, which means a decrease in the number of immunizations.
