I was a frequent site visiter during winter 09 in Australia as we saw high levels of influenza though our primary care clinic at Sydney Airport. I have not really logged in Since the end of July when H1N1 disapeared. I note with some sadness the high case load in the northern hemisphere.

As from last week, I am now seeing daily cases of H1N1 in incoming passengers to Sydney Australia from France, Japan, Canada and USA. We have had 2 airport staff confirmed with swine flu last week (Duty free sales). Ironic how we had boarder screening for flu when it was all local transmission, and none now when it is coming from overseas.

I suspect, as in May 09, we will have a 4-6 week lag and then an Australian summer flu season somewhat like that in the USA. At least we have more vaccine than we can use: hard to convince people to take it cause 'it all over now isn't it?'.

I will keep you posted.
