Vietnam confirmed 101 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza, raising the total number of flu patients in the country to 1,676

Among the newly-reported cases, 82 were in the south, five in the north and 14 in the central highland provinces of Vietnam, said the report.


Vietnam has reported two deaths of the A/H1N1 flu since its outbreak.

"Vietnam recorded 104 new cases of the influenza A (H1N1) virus Friday, the highest number of infections on a single day to date, the Ministry of Health reported.

HANOI, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam confirmed 59 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza, raising the total number of flu patients in the country to 2,073, said a report of the website of Vietnam's Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

Among the newly-reported cases, 29 were in the south, 11 in the north and 19 in the central highland provinces of Vietnam, said the report.

So far, 1,217 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The rest are being quarantined and treated.

Vietnam has reported two deaths of the A/H1N1 flu since its outbreak.

So far Vietnam has recorded 2,412 cases of H1N1 in 44 of its 63 provinces and cities, including the 100 new cases on Friday, the Ministry of Health said.
