Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis was not in Wednesday's starting lineup against the Mariners and wasn't at Camden Yards at all, as the right fielder is dealing with a flu-like virus that sidelined him for the first time this season.

Markakis went to visit his wife, Christina, who was hospitalized with the illness after Tuesday's game, and he came down with the sickness himself.

"I told him to text me and keep me up to speed on what was going on with her," manager Buck Showalter said prior to Wednesday's game. "The next thing I know Nicky got it during the night, and he was pretty sick. I talked to him about an hour ago and he starting to feel better. But it is a highly contagious thing. So the doctors feel he should stay home."

PB1 sequence of Maryland/06 and Delaware/08 are identical, and are in the S188T sub-clade, but both have the above polymorphisms which is in Maryland/04 from the Chihuahua subclade. All three have H274Y.

Similarly, the first three isolates from Delaware with H274 are also the S188T sub-clade, but they have A189T, which is in the Chihuahua sub-clade, including Maryland/04.

CDC release 50 sets of 2011 H1N1 sequences today. NONE were from Delaware (and the only MD sequence was a clone of MD/04).
