"detection" doesn't say how prevalent it was/is

2 of 8 in published - more in withheld sequences.

Once again - what planet are you on? This has been posted MANY times on MANY threads. Chihuahua started over a MONTH ago in northern Mexico and was well covered in recombinomics' commentaries

http://www.recombinomics.com/whats_new.html

and interview

http://rense.gsradio.net:8080/rense/spe ... 042111.mp3

and another interview tonight at 11PM EST will cover the WHO H1N1 pandemic alert

could it be, that the Chi-strain is better adapted to summer weather,
but can't stand the competition (via human immunity) during
waves of other flus ?

It is currently spreading like wildfire in Central and South America. It is the fall in South America.

I can't see your wildfire in South America in the flunet-counts

almost nothing in Brazil,Chile,...
Paraguay had H3 in Jan (!) , no H1
Argentina peaked in week 41, H3
Chile week 38 (H3)

Ecuador peaked in Jan, Venezuela in early April (says WHO)

Lots of Easter break travel. More cases will appear in the next few weeks.

Like GSGS, you are also analytically challenged. The WHO doesn't issue alerts or tell countries to implement their pandemic preparedness plans often. The P&I rates in El Paso are at record levels and ILI visits are spiking in Juarez.

The WHO knowss that D225N in the upper respiratory tract is a serious concern, and they also know that the available vaccine is NOT a good match for the Chihuahua sub-clade, so they are already working on "managing" the news.

From the WHO "instructions":

Implement a risk communication plan to prevent and/or reduce the population’s anxiety. The press has a key role in disseminating information. It is necessary to inform (disseminate) that the large majority of infections are asymptomatic or present non-specific symptoms.
