Hello. I'm new to the forum, but I've been gathering data regarding 2009 Pandemic H1N1 since May 2009. I have kept spreadsheets with tallies of fatalities globally, within the U.S. by state, and Pediatric deaths in the U.S. by state. I've also done a lot of research with respect to media reports and other databases to confirm my numbers.
I contacted Dr. Niman and offerred to share data on death clusters and he suggested that I become a member.
So, here I am.
One point I did want to make is that it seems that more people have died from Influenza B in the 2 to 59 age group than in past years. Three were reported today in Lviv, Ukraine (two children and a 21-yo). Both NC deaths (15-yo and an adult 30-59) are from Influenza B. Also, a number of the Influenza B deaths in the UK were reported to be between 2 and 59.
I don't know if this is because more samples are being analyzed or if the strain of Influenza B circulating this year is more virulent.
Jim, Welcome. The updates on infleunza B sequences by the CDC have been quite timely (but I have not analyzed these sequences).
