An H1N1 influenza A virus, A/swine/Ohio/24366/07, was isolated from pigs in an Ohio
county fair. Twenty-six people who came in contact with the infected pigs developed
respiratory disease and two of these people were laboratory confirmed as H1N1 by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The A/swine/Ohio/24366/07 virus we
isolated from swine was shown at the CDC to have 100% identical genome sequence to the human virus associated with the county fair.

Dr Niman, what's the go with D225G and Tamiflu resistance in both the current H3N2 and this new Frankenstein swine mix one?

Tamiflu resistance in H3N2 will not be a problem because it has N2 (although the three isolates from the farm workers in Sasketchewan in 2009 were infected with an H1N1 triple reassortant with H1 and N1 from Brisbane/59-like H1N1, which have H274Y).

However, Kansas/13 does have D225G.

So "under the bonne"t this new trH3N2 could acquire some nasty pH1N1 D225 mutations?

It already has D225G, so no acquisitions are necessary.

The NP gene is closely related to A/swine/NC/2023/2008 followed by A/swine/MN/SG-00239/2007, A/swine/MN/02011/2008. A/swine/MO/02060/2008 A/swine/NE/02013/2008 (these are H1N1 and H1N2). It is NOT close to the Huron fair-like sequences.
