Interesting info Tex, thanks for that. I take quite a lot of medication for other conditions as well, even tho the doctor said the anit-biotic shouldn't clash with the others I take. To top it all of, my Raynaulds Syndrome kicked in last night as it's so cold here. The tips of my fingers are blue, coughy-phleghmy thing, can't even breakfast down (even thought it's 12.45pm here!) Just popped a Buccastem in my gob, that's pretty good at relieving nausea and vomiting. Dad poorly, bed-ridden, fever has dropped but coughing like a good 'un. Bro-in-law, haven't had an update from my sis yet. This cold snap is so unusual.

Speaking of Oaxaca, Mx, the flu is still 'moderate' there & Distrito Federal & Sonora.

News just said, there are some fuel shortages in the UK, laughable.

Hope you and yours are feeling better and can give an update then.

'The Day After Tomorrow' is here ...........;)

Frozen Britain

This stunning image taken by NASA’s Terra Satellite shows the full extent of the snow and sub-zero temperatures that has been bombarding the entire nation for the past week.
As you can see, only a few coastal regions remain unaffected by the snow, but the vast majority of the British Isles have been painted white.

Even as I write this now, the snow continues to fall…

Been to docs, prescibed me Doxcycline 100mg twice a day. Was on Erythromycin a couple of weeks ago after a minor op. Asked pharmacist at chemist as to why the Erythromcyin didn't attack this chest infection, he said I was prob drug resistant to it. He said a lot of doctors now are prescribing Doxycycline as people are becoming resistant to most of the well-known ones. I'm allergic to Penicillin so can't take that. They say you learn something new everyday.

My son has been using this antibiotic for his acne for a long time. (Doxcycline)

Antibiotics are working, at last, and am on the mend. Dad bit better and bro-in-law has gone back to work, still ill, fool. Went on a day trip today and 5 or 6 on the coach were coughing quite badly. It has been very cold here, that could be the cause but, whatever 'it is' has arrived a month earlier than normal.

Well, well 'it's back' feeling rough again today. My surgery was closed yesterday but the duty doctor has written me up another script for stronger antibiotics. I think this has now turned into bronchitis (my own self-diagnosis) and if this lot don't work I'm asking for a chest x-ray. Would've thought they would have done this by now considering I had pneumonia in 1999/2000? Had recurrent chest infections in 2007 but seem to have escaped them since then. Blurgh!!

I hope you feel better soon. :cray:
I know it takes alot of time and dedication to track all this information, and I am amazed at how much work you can put out while feeling so ill. I have been following this site (since the days niman was using the old google map, and then followed niman to this home site) while I am at work, but am not able to make comments or respond during the day. I wanted to tell you...I am very grateful for all the contributions you make to the tracking of the flu virus and the stories you post.
Thank You for all you do to help ! :hello:

Thanks Smaggs. I am quite ill at the mo and fed up of it tbh, and am sort of housebound. Shouldn't have gone out for a day trip on Sunday and was outside all day so am paying for it now. I believe this is a 'crucial time' to keep people informed of what's going on in tracking influenza be it H1N1, H3N2 etc and that's why I do what I do. I post for a variety of reasons to keep myself informed, learn from Dr Niman and others (in a limited capacity, I'm not a scientist or medical professional) and keep others up-to-date. ;)

Thanks
