The only protein change on the HA of the above sequence is D225G.

This would fall into the EXTREMELY bad news category. It means that not only does D225G drive the H1N1 to the lungs, but it allows the virus to evade the natural immune response / vaccine.

I got H1N1 3x. Don't like being sick. Just got Novartis H1N1 vaccine, single dose (way less mercury), no adjuvants.

Did I do something stupid getting that vaccine? I'm at risk, have breathing problems and like to be well and vertical. I thought the booster would help keep the recurring infection mild enough to handle.

The virus still seems to be a mixture, so even though the prior exposures may select for D225G, your existing immunity may knock down the wild type and then allow for more focus on D225G. Moreover, not all H1N1 infections involve D225G.

No, the select for refers to prior exposures generating antibodies that kill the wild type. The killing of wild type selects for D225G (it becomes dominnat because its competition (wild type) has been eliminated by the antibodies generate against wil type. Thus, after the antibodies kill off wild type, all that is left is D225G (the selection favored the survival and dominance of D225G).
