NSDC should be central decision-making body in fighting flu epidemic, says Ukrainian president

Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has said that the National Security and Defense Council should become a central decision-making body in fighting flu epidemic.

"The National Security and Defense Council should become the main decision-making center. The non-fulfillment of its decisions will be prosecuted," he told reporters on Wednesday night following the meeting on epidemic situation in Ukraine.

Yuschenko said that he has made the chief sanitary officer and the health minister members of the NSDC.

The president stressed that his decision was dictated by the need for urgent actions. "We need to change the system. We need to change the WHOLE system of the state power organization in Ukraine. We have no time for remonstrance no time for waiting," he said.

Powerful language. What does that remind me of?

Reminds me of Rahm Emmanuel saying "Never let a good crisis go to waste!" which Clinton (the female one) parrotted in a different circumstance days later. Or maybe Yuschenko recognizes his own shortcomings in reacting to this emergency and wants to make the government structure more horizontal and reactionary, thereby, diminishing his own power but I doubt it.

Also sounds like pre-bailout "It's an EMERGENCY give us the cash or face Martial Law" hype. Is this what it reminded you of?

Martial law declared

http://fto.co.za/news/ukraine-declares- ... 15730.html

Quote:
The Ukranian President Victor Yushchenko declared martial law yesterday and announced the National Security and Defense Council will become the supreme ruling authority following the rise of a new pneumonic plague outbreak.

Anyone that fails to comply with the NSDC will result in application to the law enforcement authorities, the president also said "“I instruct the Government and the Ministry of Health to immediately start preventive and promotional work in areas where there is no epidemic, targeting primarily the special risk groups,“"

The Ukrainian Health Minister Wasilij Knaizevicz also said the country's top prosecutor should open criminal proceedings against anyone opposing the implementation of mass flu vaccination campaigns.

“I demand the Government to immediately cancel the existing order of registration of medical supplies, including vaccines.”

“It is generally known that the only way to prevent any infection is vaccination,“ the address reads, “As the President I ask you, dear fellow citizens, to reconsider your attitude to vaccination and do it if necessary, but only, I emphasize it – only after consultation with the doctor.”

“this may lead to the emergence of an even more aggressive new virus”

The WHO however said that the strain of h1n1 in Ukraine seems no different than the normal swine flu break out elsewhere.

I believe the above story is FALSE, and is based on a posting at a wackadoodle website

http://www.prisonplanet.com/martial-law ... demic.html
That story says martial law was "all but" declared.

Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has all but declared martial law in the country as he announced yesterday that the National Security and Defense Council will become the supreme ruling authority in the wake of a mystery epidemic sweeping the country

Just to clarify. The above prison planet story lists "possibilities", which are then extracted and published as fact. The extraction results in a story that is internally inconsistant (like taking a vaccine for pneumonic plague), and at odds with the "review" since the outbreak is acknowledged to be due to H1N1.

This is typical wackdoodle news. Even after samples were sent to London and shown to contain Tamiflu sensitive swine H1N1 by SEQUENCING, the SUBSEQUENT story ignores the scientic finding (by groups within Ukraine and UK) and revents back to the pneumonic plaque nonsense floated by wackdoodle sites and spread by wackdoodlers.
