As usual the numbers are strange or unbelievable. NCHS has not yet updated its numbers from Week 2 thru 1/17/15. First thing is that the total number of deaths is at an all time low since 2009 with only 30,702 reported. This is 1/2 of the highest numbers reported of 60,946 in the 2nd week of 2013. There was never a total below 40,000 until a few weeks before H3N2 started to hit hard in 2015. What a huge and unexplained percentage change.
