Dr. Niman, how many cases at least be there for that possible reassortment is a threat?

Co-transmission is a bigger threat than reassortment or recombination.

If this story turns out to be true, it is quite a significant development. I agree with you, Dr. Niman, that H2H is likely. Hard to imagine 3 separate cases of simultaneous infection by both viruses in such a short period of time. Any news on whether the 3 patients are related or had common source of infection?

I believe at least 2 of 3 were pilgrims.
