EDIT: Update, Caracal in Romania, not Hungary

http://www.mediafax.ro/ah1n1/o-femeie-c ... a-5310196/

Not the best translation, but sounds like two fatal cases of H1N1, contracted from same source, maybe two occurances??

"This is a woman of 42 years of Caracal, mother of a young friend of 21 years died a few days ago, confirmed also A/H1N1 virus. The two did not become ill from one another but had a common source from which they contracted the virus, "said Madan Marinela.

.........

A couple aged 21 years in city Caracal died January 7 at the Department of Intensive Care Emergency County Hospital Slatina, it was confirmed influenza A/H1N1.

Holy Moly. Sequences with D225G from these cases would pretty much prove Dr. Niman correct (not that I have any doubts). It would be good to have any other information on the course of their disease (rapid decline, etc.) if you can find it!

What do they mean and how do they know that one woman didn't catch it from the other? Sounds like they must have identified the source though it doesn't say.

We really do not know the whole story, it was not even translated that well. We really need to have more concrete info, do you not think?

If they both developed symptoms on the same day, they were infected by a common source.

Romania is using vaccination created in Romania, they refused to buy foreign vaccination. I wonder what strain it is targeted for.

http://www.cotidianul.ro/streinu_cercel ... 06635.html

Streinu Cercel: AH1N1 virus has changed in Romania

The large number of Romanian that were vaccinated in recent days has given hope to specialist doctors who say that this trend should continue for death rate declined significantly. Secretary of State, Adrian Streinu Cercel is also optimistic and believes that the number of victims among people infected will be increasingly smaller.

"Monday we recorded seven deaths occurred after the new influenza virus infection, but they do not believe that is the growth. In the worst case we maintain at that level, "said Streinu Cercel, for REALITATEA.NET.

However, Adrian Streinu Cercel warns us that the virus has undergone some changes recently, but says there is no reason for concern because the vaccine is equally effective.
