Sheesh! Few New York City residents have even heard about someone (human) getting swine flu. And now a dog gets it about an hour away from the city. Did the dog just return from a Ukrainian vacation?

Who knows. Turtles, like most species, are NOT tested.

The fact that the first positive dog in the US was in DECEMBER, when there at thousands if not millions of dogs infected, speaks volumes.

Well... I have LOTS of pets. They help me unwind. :thumbsup:

I'll keep a look out for flu-like symptoms in them... ;)

I have hermit crabs, a leopard Gecko, two rabbits, three dogs, and a cat. :grin:

Dr. Niman. As a previous poster mentioned. Isn't this highly unusual that a single virus can infect so many species? And my biggest question. What doors does this open in ways of recombination with other animal viruses that are common in these species but cannot yet infect humans??
