Sure, thats called taking it out of context after I was told that I thought children and young peoples life didn't have more value than the elderly. And my comment was let's drive down to Ft. Hood and see if some of my friends thought that young lives weren't as valuable. It was all an attack because I spoke up to her about her hateful comments. This is a very useful bit of information to have. The site is great and I have been a member since April, reading every day and picking up an enormous amout of useful and interesting detail. However, it will be a relief to be able to eliminate some of the more caustic posters which detract from the spirit of the board.

What was the reason your doctor told you NOT to get the vaccine?
This is the first I've heard of Relenza resistance. That is scary. Are you sure he didn't mis-speak and mean Tamiflu?

Ex doctor because he is a idiot. In his mind Tamiflu was the only drug available that worked ( Blame GSK for that ) and he got confused. I told him to read up some more.

He advised against the vaccine becuase I was not in any risk group.

End of the day I know alot more about Influenza,vaccines and antivirals than he does and most GP doctors for that matter.

I have decided against getting the vaccine now for two reasons.

1. I have a stockpile of effective antiviral ( relenza ) that I would trust my and my families life on.

2. The injectable Vaccine CSL make for us in AUSTRAILA doesnt have the 225 strain. I believe only a nasal spray vaccine does.

I have decided that any second/third wave will most likely be H274Y and 225 in it.

Thanks for your answer CPG. I just wondered if there was a particular reason why a doctor would not want you to take this vaccine. (this is off topic)

You do realize that you have just insulted those who disagree with your perspective, right? Or is it only the good Dr. who is not to be insulted?
Insulting others to get your point across about how inappropriate and unacceptable insulting posts are is really not a very good tactic.
