The Paraná vacionou 60 % of the population against the H1N1 virus, is the state that more vaccine in Brazil. The age group with the highest number of deaths in Paraná is 20-49 years, 31.2% , including the recent case of Foz do Iguacu.

Foz do Iguacu - On Sunday (18), was the first city in the event of death due to complications of influenza H1N1. The victim was Brenda Giovana Senin Duarte, a 10 year old girl who had been hospitalized for 14 days in the Hospital Costa Cavalcanti. Though she had been vaccinated , contracted the virus and has not responded positively to the care of the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU). Giovana Senin Brenda Duarte was part of the second age group with the highest number of fatalities in the State ( 5-19 years) , with three previous cases of death.

The regional alert of Foz do Iguacu Secretary of Health of Paraná is the population increase preventive care . According to the nurse Roberto Doldán of Medical Specialties Center in Foz do Iguacu , the vaccine has efficacy of 90%. Ie 10 % of the population do not create the antibodies ( molecules responsible for fighting infections).

Vaccination

Six of them tested positive and 13 other negatives. In addition , 135 people received the drug Tamiflu , indicated for treating the disease and another 17 came into direct contact with virus carriers.

In 2009 the town had 11 people infected by the virus A ( H1N1) and one death, a man of 47 years .
