Influenza A: There are 30 cases so far this winter
Greater vigilance against respiratory

Quote:
A day after the World Health Organization (WHO ) should be terminated pandemic influenza A ( H1N1 ), the Ministry of Public Health ( MSP ) announced that it will increase surveillance of respiratory infections .

In addition, Uruguay will seek to capitalize on lessons learned from the " worst pandemic of the century " , as defined by the health director , Gilberto RĂos.

So far this year have been identified some 30 cases of influenza A in the country, reported yesterday by the MSP. Last year, the figure was vastly superior and the virus claimed the lives of about 128 people , according to official figures.

Undersecretary of Public Health, Jorge Venegas , said the campaign was achieved this year to vaccinate some 600,000 people and appreciated further that after the pandemic could bring health care infrastructure to meet the demand for respiratory symptoms .
